Quality/Patient Safety Specialist (Onsite OR Remote)

Description

Provides support for ADN’s quality and patient safety products and services. Applies clinical expertise and healthcare business knowledge to transform end-user requests into product deliverables. Identifies, analyzes, and documents problems with product functionality and output. Monitors resolution efforts, collaborates with IT, and tracks successes. Serves as client contact and trusted advisor, including initial onboarding and ongoing training/support. Assists in data analysis efforts to drive learning and performance improvement. Demonstrates strong project coordination and management of multiple projects and clients concurrently. Works well in a team-oriented, agile environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of AHRQ Patient Safety Organization requirements, quality concepts and principles, patient safety sciences, and other applicable healthcare standards.
  • Participates in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, designs, and schedules.
  • Confers with end-users to identify and define system requirements and product enhancements.
  • Develops and defines business requirements to transform client requests into technical deliverables.
  • Documents software defects, using an issue tracking system, and provides feedback and recommendations to software developers.
  • Promotes communication and alignment by serving as a bridge between the clinical and technical teams, both internally and externally with clients or third-party vendors.
  • Facilitates onboarding of new clients to products and services, as well as providing ongoing education and support.
  • Performs data analysis using appropriate statistical tools and leverages clinical expertise to suggest strategies for improvement for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates project management and critical thinking skills, with the ability to lead teams and drive performance improvement.
Qualifications
  • Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related field, OR at least three years of professional experience in quality, risk management, or patient safety.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan/accomplish goals.
  • Maintains a strict level of confidentiality in all aspects of work.
  • Computer savvy with the ability to learn new systems.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and client-focused.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • BSN, LPN, or RN preferred.
  • CPHQ or CPPS preferred.
